We had quite a good day on the World Book Day considering how much we love reading. 📖 ❤️

I became Anna from Frozen and took one of my favourite books ~ “An Amazing Snowman” to my school. My teacher read this book to all my friends and they loved it! As you can see in the picture that how much I love reading this book 🙂❤️

Considering it is World Book Day tomorrow and we have a little reader at home, there is already a lot of excitement. 📚

C loves books. If you ask her what she wants, the answer will mostly be books. Her day starts with books and ends with books. 📒📕📗📘📙

Maybe because she is an avid reader, she remembers not only the names of all her books but also the text for most of the books by heart from page to page. We get amazed with this skill of hers. At times it feels as if she is reading! And she remembers books not from now, but since she was very little. Swipe right to check some of the videos! ➡️

But Hey! That also means that we cannot trick her! If at times we want to finish the book fast and miss some text, she catches us easily and will say that you didn’t read this line! 🤷‍♀️🙈

And yes, this also means we have lots and lots of books, but we can’t complain as this is one of the best habits to have. As they say, “Books are the most loyal and trusted friends you can ever have!” ❣️

Many of my friends have asked me how did she develop this habit. I guess some of it is to do with her natural inclination, but yes I’ve been reading to her since she was baby, which of course has developed her interest more. I just try to make reading fun for her and a few things that make the whole experience interesting for us are,

◾Using voice modulations
◾Enacting the characters
◾Asking questions, like ~ why do you think the character reacted in a certain way?
◾Bringing a book alive. If you see in the picture we made character paper dolls before reading the book named ~ “The Paper Dolls”, and she got super engaged. Also, it was fun for me to read the book with the actual character paper dolls 😊

But on top of everything you have to ~ Read, Read and Read!

BTW, do you have a little reader at home as well? Also, any tips that worked for you, would love to try any suggestions.

But along with loving role play, C has a major #FOMO as well. So, when I got my vaccination and she saw the sticker on my hand, she wanted to get vaccinated too 🙈.. I don’t know if it was vaccination or the sticker that made her interested 😬.. So we played vaccination vaccination!.. Swipe ➡️ to check our vaccination session 😀

And yes at the end we both had stickers on our hand. Somehow the Mom in me knew this is going to happen, so I anyways requested for an extra sticker when I went for mine 🙂❣️

She was so excited that she went with sticker on her hand to the school and showed off to all her friends. And apparently all her friends now want to get vaccinated so as they can get the sticker as well 🤷‍♀️

I’ve had my vaccination today and this calls for

I’ve had my vaccination today and this calls for a special post. We all know how past one year has been and each one of us want to come out of this to live in a free world as before. I know there are so many apprehensions around vaccinations - To get or to not get? Which vaccine is better? Are there any side effects? .. At the end of the day it is a personal choice. Even I had some doubts, but I knew I wanted to get it done. So was really happy, when I got a call that I am up for it now. Have almost locked myself for past one year as have most of us and want to feel a little normal. ⠀

And yes, a special mention for the arrangements at the vaccination centre, I was super impressed! It was very systematic and super comforting. ⠀
⠀
Considering I have got a lot of DMs related to vaccination, so thought of giving some sight of the process as below (as followed in London). ⠀
⠀
▪️ You get an email from the healthcare provider (NHS)⠀
▪️ Then you call your GP to book an appointment⠀
▪️ On the day you go to the venue at your allocated time and queue⠀
▪️ At the entrance, you sanitise your hand and are photo clicked
▪️ Then you register at the registration desk⠀
▪️ After that you are assigned a queue and you wait for your turn (It is super quick as multiple queues)⠀
▪️ When it is your turn, you can ask as many questions and believe me the staff is really helpful⠀
▪️ They also explain you what to watch out for in the next few days and when to reach the doctor⠀
▪️ They ask you few questions like - If you have any allergy with medicines, have had COVID recently, have COVID like symptoms now or are pregnant⠀
▪️ If answer to all the above is 'No', vaccination is given
▪️ Post vaccination, you are given a record card that you are suppose to retain and bring back for the next dose
▪️ Then you are asked to wait for 15 minutes in the waiting area, just in case of any severe reactions⠀

That's it and you are VACCINATED! Hopefully the vaccination drive leads us to the normal world soon 🙏⠀

I sprained my back and was sitting with a hot water bottle that she came and sat next to me and said,

Mumma ~ I know you are missing your Mumma, don’t you? When Corona gets over you can go and see her. But Corona is not getting over! When will it get over so that you can go and see your Mumma?

I had tears in my eyes and I hugged her. I think girls are in general more emotional. She could think that when she is in pain she comes to me, so I must be missing my Mumma!❤️🥰

Howsoever little they are, they find their ways to express themselves, don’t they? ❤️❣️😍🥰
